Philippe GAILLARD

Philippe GAILLARD is a multi-faceted musician. He studied the piano and the bassoon in several national Conservatoires (Limoges, Le Mans, Rueil-Malmaison) and obtained First Prize in both, as well as first prize unanimously in Chamber Music. He perfected his study of the bassoon with Maurice Allard and Gilbert Audin, solists at the Opera de Paris. At the same time, he studied improvised music with François Jeanneau at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris and moved towards composition and orchestration at the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris (Patrice Mestral’s class). He obtained the Diplôme Supérieur d’Orchestration, first nominated.

As a composer, he is the author of vocal; piano and instrumental works and also writes for the stage, as well as for short films and the silent screen; his work has been programmed in the Festival d’Avignon, the Festival du Périgord and the Printemps des Poètes. Some of these compositions are edited by I.M.D. (International Music Diffusion). Philippe Gaillard teaches at the Conservatoire in Val d’Yerres and plays regularly with orchestral and chamber music groups.
